With my first project being an attempt at a circle skirt, I finally came back to the concept, this time succeeding. A couple days before leaving for a camping trip I realized many of my daily wear skirts were made of semi-fragile fabrics that would most likely not take well to a life in the woods, so I threw together this skirt truly in one day. To this day, it's one of my neatest projects.
It used a number of the skills I'd been developing over the past year of actively improving my sewing skills: a rolled hem, plackets in the closure, the waistband following the method from the shorts, and measuring accurately.
The improvement I made within a year is really cool to look back on--I went from spending months working on a skirt where nearly everything went wrong to whipping up a skirt in one day that was far more complicated than I had done so far, entirely patternless, and fit perfectly.
It's a great lightweight skirt that I've used on its own, as a petticoat, and is just a lovely addition to my wardrobe.
