This skirt began as a mock up to test the pattern I self-drafted from the instructions in the Keystone Jacket & Dress Cutter book, but has become a skirt I wear on its own. It's only one layer so it doesn't have the stiffness that many period walking skirts had, but I plan to make more walking skirts in future that have a proper lining and stiffener at the hem, which is something I'm looking forward to.
This was a super straightforward project, with the seams pinked and pressed for simplicity and the closure being just a button, hook & eye, and a placket. When worn with low-heeled shoes there is a bit of a train on this skirt which I love, and need to work into skirts that can be worn with higher heels and still have a train.
