The next step in the project of the gown for the Winter Ball was the bodice. I purchased a pattern for an 1860's style evening gown bodice for this part, since I don't have enough experience with bodices to draft one of my own. This turned out really well and I adore the bodice I made.
Before this project, the closest I'd come to making a bodice was the red suspender skirt I made, which is to say I hadn't touched the world of bodices/shirts/blouses in any way. It was quite scary honestly, but it ended up going really well. I made a mock up of it before cutting the fashion fabric (and ended up using the mock up as my lining because it fit great on the first try).
